GreenFiber History

GreenFiber was formed in 2000 as a 50/50 joint venture between Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (NYSE: LPX) and Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CWST), and the merging of their respective companies, Greenstone and US Fiber. The venture provided a more efficient distribution of GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation on a national level, combining Casella’s experience and accessibility to raw materials and Louisiana-Pacific’s outstanding position in the building materials industry.

In addition to its Charlotte, N.C. corporate headquarters and separate state-of-the-art research and development facility, GreenFiber operates manufacturing facilities in 11 US locations: Albany, N.Y., Charlotte, N.C., Delphos, Ohio, East St. Louis, Ill., Lithia Springs, Ga., Norfolk, Neb., Phoenix, Ariz., Sacramento, Calif., Salt Lake City, Utah, Tampa, Fla. and Waco, Texas. The 12th plant, a Scott’s Patch Master Plant, is located in Elkwood, Va. Nationwide, the company employs 450.
